Equipment

  • 1 Skillet
  • 1 Dicing/Mincing Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 Cooking Sheet/Tray

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3/4 tsp iodized salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3/4 tsp Montreal Steak seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 - 1 med Vidalia Sweet Onion, diced or onion of choice
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese or cheese of choice
  • 6 slices American cheese or cheese of choice
  • 1 pack Hawaiian Sweet Rolls or slider bun of choice
  • 2 Tbsp Butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds or Sesame
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  • Add olive oil to a skillet and sauté diced onions until translucent.
  • Add 1 1/2 pounds of ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, Montreal Steak seasoning, and Old Bay. Cook until the beef is done and no longer pink. Drain if needed. While the beef is cooking, prepare the minced garlic and preheat the oven.
  • Add the beef back into the skillet and add the minced garlic. Cook just until you can smell the garlic, 30 seconds to 1 minute. Keep warm while preparing the slider buns.
  • Slice the buns in half sideways and place the bottom half on a cooking tray/sheet. Place 6 slices of Swiss (or cheese of your choice) on the buns and bake just until the cheese starts to melt and the buns are firm.
  • Remove the bottom buns from the oven and add the ground beef to the buns. Top the beef with 6 slices of American cheese (or cheese of your choice) and place the top layer of buns on top of the meat.
  • Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter in the microwave and spread over the top of the buns. Sprinkle the Poppy Seeds (or Sesame, or no seeds at all) and the garlic powder on top of the buns and bake in the preheated 350-degree F oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
